Chicago Bridge & Iron

Birmingham, AL

Chicago Bridge & Iron was an old manufacturing facility founded in the early part of the last century to make bridge components using heat resistant systems. Chicago Bridge & Iron products required insulation materials using asbestos. Changes in environmental law required that all asbestos materials be removed from this facility.

Ambipar Response OSE teamed up with D. H. Griffin Wrecking Company, Inc. for the demolition of the Chicago Bridge & Iron manufacturing plant. OSE had a crew of ten remove and dispose of asbestos material in the pipe insulation, transite roof, window glazing, tank insulation, built-up roofing and metal siding from August thru December of 2009. The demolition project and abatement work by OSE generated over $100,000 in revenues for the company.
