Birmingham, AL
One of our abatement division’s largest jobs to date, was the GSA Vance Federal Courthouse renovation project. The Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a four story white marble building in the Classical Revival style. It occupies an entire block on 5th Avenue, between 18th and 19th Streets in the Central Business District of downtown Birmingham.
Our team worked throughout three stories of the partially occupied building during the renovation. We abated wall mastic using dry ice blasting to eliminate unnecessary, added cleanup. We performed selective demolition of plaster ceilings and completed all abatement of roofing felt. Additionally, we removed lead paint from I beams. In the basement of the building, our team abated thousands of linear feet of pipe insulation and demoed out numerous walls.
