Alabama’s recovery from the April 27 tornadoes that ripped through the state and Southeast will take months to years for many, so the BBJ asked area experts and business owners to pinpoint concerns that might arise as those impacted work to rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

“Working on several cleanup sites and spending time with those effected, we can all agree that this state will rebound stronger than ever” said Ryan Ollard, vice president of One Stop Environmental . “As the rebuilding continues it is important that crews use extreme caution concerning the disposal of hazardous material left in the wake of the recent storms. The loss of so many homes and businesses will greatly impact our economy. Sadly, this provides the opportunity to rebuild older structures in compliance with current safety and environmental standards that provide for more structurally sound and energy efficient houses and buildings.”
