What it does: Provides hazardous waste remediation and cleanup services for government, military, and private sector clients.

Why it’s growing: Doing the dirty work has been lucrative for One Stop, a woman-owned, HUBZone, 8(a) certified, small disadvantaged business ready to tackle anything–from the transporting of industrial waste to cleanups of train wrecks, military firing ranges, and busted meth labs. Revenue from federal contracts has soared, from $100,000 in 2005 to almost $2 million in 2006.

What’s noteworthy: CEO Shannon Riley has four young children. But she’s not too worried about her safety. “We deal with more danger than the average person,” she says. “But we know what we’re getting into, and we’re safe because we’re always prepared.”
