Environmental Consulting/Professional Services Division Manager
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors (B.S.) or Masters (M.S.) degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
- Minimum of 10 years of previous environmental consulting industry experience primary focused upon the consulting field
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred. Registered Environmental Manager (REM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.
- Must have past experience working within the role of an Environmental Project Manager on a diverse range of environmental consulting projects.
- Must have experience estimating and winning profitable consulting work
The Environmental Consulting/professional services division manager’s role and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated environmental consulting (NEPA, Phase I, II, III; EBS, EA) and/or professional services (environmental program management) projects to ensure that goals or objectives of environmental project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
- Prepares large-scale programmatic and project proposals.
- Able to identify opportunities and forecast project work on existing contracts.
- Schedules and assigns duties to current staff based on evaluation of their knowledge of specific disciplines.
- Manages relationships and productivity of subcontractors and suppliers
- Confers with project professional staff to formulate research plans, coordinate project activities, and establish reporting procedures
- Reviews technical aspects of project to assist staff and assess productivity of lines of research.
- Reviews project operations to ensure coordination of efforts and timely submission of reports.
- Analyzes reports to evaluate program effectiveness and prepare impact analysis to assess total life cycle costs associated with implementing new pollution control techniques or other innovative solutions.
- Develops and maintains baseline budgets and schedules for assigned project.
- Successful multi project management experience required.
- Must have exceptional reporting (both written and verbal) skills.
- Must grow this division through job performance for existing clients and individual initiative in the active pursuit of and marketing to new clients
- Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and direct the negotiation of research contracts. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Review and recommend approval of contracts and cost estimates.
