Responsibilities include: Analyzing and interpreting codes, regulations, policies and procedures; comprehending, interpreting, and applying Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and waste; writing and implementing environmental compliance plans and programs; communicating effectively; preparing and presenting effective training sessions on complex materials to various employee groups; evaluating levels of compliance and effectiveness of procedures; identifying potential hazards in the proposed storage or handling of hazardous materials and waste; developing creative and practical solutions to complex and difficult problems; maintaining cooperative working relationships.
